What is the Easy Pay Direct process?
The Easy Pay Direct process is a four-step onboarding sequence: application, underwriting, approval and setup, and payment optimization. Most merchants complete the first three steps in 3 to 7 business days on clean files. The fourth step, payment optimization, is ongoing over the life of the account.
How long does the Easy Pay Direct application take?
The online application itself takes about 7 minutes. Underwriting review is typically 1 to 2 business days on clean files. Full approval and setup completes in 3 to 7 business days for most merchants.
What documents does Easy Pay Direct need?
Easy Pay Direct requires seven documents: articles of incorporation or equivalent business formation, a voided check or bank letter for the business account, the last 3 months of processing statements if you have prior processing history, the last 3 months of business bank statements, a government-issued photo ID, your business website URL, and a written refund and cancellation policy. Higher-risk verticals may require additional documentation.
Who is my point of contact at Easy Pay Direct?
Your first point of contact is a New Client Specialist (NCS), who handles document collection and KYC. Once your file is complete, a Certified Payment Specialist (CPS) takes over for underwriting. After approval, you are introduced to your Merchant Success rep, who is your ongoing point of contact for the life of the account.
What happens after I submit my application to Easy Pay Direct?
Within one business day of submitting your application, a New Client Specialist reaches out to collect any missing documents. Once your file is complete, a Certified Payment Specialist packages it for the underwriter, and underwriting review typically completes within 1 to 2 business days on clean files.
What is a New Client Specialist at Easy Pay Direct?
A New Client Specialist (NCS) is the Easy Pay Direct team member who owns the first phase of onboarding. They collect the documents required by federal KYC law, answer initial questions, and prepare your file for the underwriting team. Your NCS is your point of contact from application through file completion.
What is a Certified Payment Specialist?
A Certified Payment Specialist (CPS) is the Easy Pay Direct team member who reviews your file, packages it for the underwriter, and matches you with the right bank. The CPS layer is why underwriters see clean, complete files, which is why Easy Pay Direct approval times run faster than aggregator platforms.
What is the Payment Optimization Plan?
The Payment Optimization Plan (POP) is the ongoing playbook for stable, scalable payments over the life of your account. It starts the day you apply and is refined at Day 7, Day 30, Day 90, Day 180, and Day 365. The POP tackles chargebacks, declines, risk trends, and adds features like invoicing, BNPL, and 3DS support as your business needs them.
What is KYC for a merchant account?
KYC stands for Know Your Customer. It is the set of federal regulations that require merchant account providers to verify the identity and legitimacy of every business they underwrite. The seven documents on our checklist are the standard KYC requirements for a US merchant account.
What if I get stuck during the Easy Pay Direct process?
If you get stuck at any point, contact whoever is your current point of contact: your New Client Specialist during application, your Certified Payment Specialist during underwriting, or your Merchant Success rep after approval. Every merchant has a direct phone number and email for their contact. There is no ticket queue and no chatbot.
