How long do merchant account deposits typically take?
Funding time is the amount of time between when you process a transaction and when funds are deposited into your business bank account. For many Merchant Accounts, deposits often occur within two to three business days, but timing can vary based on factors like your business type, processing history, batch and settlement timing, weekends and holidays, and bank processing windows.
Card payments typically fund after the transaction is authorized, settled, and released according to your account’s funding schedule. ACH (electronic checks) usually take longer than card payments and may take several business days to settle, depending on the authorization method, bank timelines, and the specific transaction flow.
Some Merchant Accounts may be eligible for next-business-day funding when transactions are settled by a specific daily cutoff time. Availability and timing depend on Underwriting, the acquiring bank and processor’s policies, and operational requirements.
Easy Pay Direct does not control deposit timing, but we can help you understand your expected funding schedule, how batch and settlement timing works, and whether faster funding options may be available for your Merchant Account. Final funding schedules and eligibility are determined by the acquiring banks and processors.
