What Payment Methods can Merchant Accounts Accept?

A Merchant Account is primarily used to accept credit and debit card payments, but the payment methods you can accept depend on your full setup, including the Merchant Account, the Gateway, and what is approved through Underwriting.

In many cases, businesses can accept a combination of these payment methods:

  • Credit cards and debit cards (major card brands)

  • Card-present payments (in-person) and card-not-present payments (online, phone, invoice)

  • Mobile wallets (for example, Apple Pay and Google Pay, when supported by your checkout method and enabled in your setup)

  • ACH / bank transfer payments (including eCheck or ACH debit, when enabled)

  • Alternative payment methods that may be supported through specific integrations or configurations such as BNPLs

With Easy Pay Direct, we can support credit cards, debit cards, mobile wallets, ACH, and other payment methods that are available through your approved processing configuration. The specific methods available to you depend on your Merchant Account structure, Gateway configuration, and the requirements and approvals of the acquiring banks, processors, and card networks through Underwriting.
